FreeBSD Partition Types

If you've ever gone into FreeBSD's /stand/sysinstall, gone through the FDisk utility and didn't have any idea the Partition type to add for that Linux Swap Partition you're trying to create, have no fear. This table should help you out.

I ripped this off, from here, only converting the hex numbers into decimal for easy use with FreeBSD. If you have any questions about the filesystem Types, I highly recommend following the link above to benefit from this guy's amazing resource.

NOTE: Creating a Partition is not the same as creating a filesystem on it. You're still going to have to create a filesystem on your new Partition after running FDISK if you choose anything other than the 165 Partition Type (FreeBSD Native).
