The Olivers Hit Orlando

Truth be told, I've always wanted to go to Disney World with the kids. In fact, I have it written down as something I wanted to do five years from now.

But, it just so happened that my employer, Farm Credit Services of America sent me to Orlando, Florida to attend the VS Live Orlando conference. Of course I wanted the kids to come!

So we all went. I was surprised at how well the kids traveled on the airplane. They were all very well behaved except for a twenty minute stretch on the return trip where Isaac cried incessantly.

Melinda took the kids to Sea World on Monday. Tuesday night was the Sea World Luau. Wednesday Melinda and the kids went to Daytona Beach, while I stayed back. After my sessions I hit Universal Studios--my room key worked as an express ticket to the front of the lines. This is because we were staying at a Universal Studios resort.

Thursday Mel took the kids to the Universal Studios Riverwalk, and then Friday was the Queen Mother. Friday, we went to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Was it cool? Oh yeah. I wish we could have spent a whole week there. But we did a good job of hitting the abbreviated highlights. I had some help from my good friends, the Pankos who had gone to Disney World a few months prior with their young kids. They let us borrow a bunch of Disney World books and their double stroller. It wouldn't have been near as cool without those!
